Tensile / Shade Sails

Tropical J’s does not manufacture any 3-point shade sails. 3 points are inevitably a single plane and a single plane is unstable no matter how tight its tensioned (guitar string). 4 points or more can allow for an anticlastic shape, a shape that stabilizes the cover and allows the system to be engineered to meet code. Tensile products do not get stretched over a frame, they get stretched between points and therefore their shapes can be very unique. They are a permittable product like a canopy so we only manufacture and install engineered structures. See the product info for more information
