Steel stitch awning with backlit fabric. The black is ink and the white is the ink removed, exposing fabric that lets light through. The red is a white area with a translucent red sticker on top so it glows red. The black does not let light through. Cooleybrite Vinyl.
This awning was craned into place and then field welded to the building to avoid posts. This required engineering to show the permit department the awning and building would still be up to code after the installation. The front face of the awning is a backlit fabric, with the OSF logo eradicated from the front….

Eradication WIP
This is a backlit, eradicable fabric. The red color of the white flowers has been removed, exposing the translucent fabric underneath. The fabric is Cooleybrite.
These are all backlit awnings. Backlit awnings mean we use a translucent fabric with an opaque coating on it. We will use masks to remove the opaque coating (the blue, green, and red colors), exposing the translucent fabric underneath. Then, when the light shines from behind, that area glows.
